  1. Excel import filter for Macintosh PageMaker 5.0

  5. This filter replaces the Excel import filter included with Macintosh 
  6. PageMaker 5.0. There are two problems fixed by this filter:
  7.  
  8. •    Style tags in the first cell of a row are now correctly 
  9. interpreted as paragraph styles when the worksheet is placed into 
  10. PageMaker 5.0 with “Read tags” checked in PageMaker’s “Place 
  11. document” dialog box and in the filter’s “Preferences” dialog box. 
  12. (The previous version of this filter did not contain a “Read tags” 
  13. setting in the filter’s “Preferences” dialog box.)
  14.  
  15. •    In the previous version of the Excel import filter, worksheets 
  16. whose links were updated were re-imported using the original range 
  17. definition, even when that range had been redefined in Excel. 
  18. Worksheets are now updated using the most-recent range definition.

  20. To install the Excel import filter:

  22. Copy the “Excel Import.flt” file to the “Aldus Filters” folder inside 
  23. the “Aldus” folder in the “System Folder” on your hard drive.
